What To Expect From Customized Invisalign® Treatment at Zeifman Orthodontics

Invisalign® treatment starts with a consultation with Dr. Zeifman and her team. You will have a digital scan to evaluate your smile and map out a precise, customized digital treatment plan. This step-by-step customized treatment plan is the beginning of the transformation of your smile. Once your plan is approved, a series of unique sets of aligners will be created. You will wear each set 20 to 22 hours a day and change them every 1 to 2 weeks as directed by Dr. Zeifman. Most patients typically use 18 to 20 sets over the duration of their treatment.

Length Of Invisalign® Treatment

Depending on the complexity of your case, treatment can be completed in as little as 9 to 15 months. However, you can start seeing results in a matter of weeks as the aligners gently and gradually shift your teeth into place. How do these aligners work?

How long does treatment take?

Is this treatment option only available for adults?

No, this treatment option is suitable for both teenagers and adults. Zeifman Orthodontics offers Invisalign® for teens, which is specifically designed for the unique needs of younger patients.

Can I eat and drink with my aligners in?

No, you should remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. Eating or drinking with the aligners in place can damage them and may lead to staining. It’s important to remove them before meals and brush your teeth before putting them back on.

How often should I wear my aligners?

For optimal results, it is recommended to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.

Is this treatment option painful?

While some patients may experience temporary discomfort or mild pressure during the initial days of wearing a new set of aligners, aligners are generally considered less painful than traditional braces. Any discomfort typically subsides as your mouth adjusts to the aligners.
